Partner Rides Program
Our Partner Rides Program brings the joy of cycling to care homes and community organizations. Together, we coordinate safe, social trishaw rides powered by volunteers — creating meaningful outdoor experiences that foster connection and well-being.

What to Know About Becoming a Partner
Ride Season and Scheduling
- Our ride season runs from May through October.
- Each session lasts about one hour — a 45-minute ride plus 15 minutes for boarding and unloading.
- Most facilities schedule back-to-back rides in two-hour blocks
- We typically provide 2–4 trishaws per visit, accommodating 4–8 passengers per ride.
Partner Role
- Assess passenger eligibility and assign care companions as needed.
- Ensure all passengers are prepared for their ride and have signed the waiver.
- Staff or family can join on the trishaw or on separate bikes to share the experience
- An annual service fee is issued to the Partner at the beginning of the season to partially cover maintenance and operating costs, keeping the program sustainable.
Our Commitment
- Every ride is led by trained volunteer Pilots who have completed Criminal Record Checks and are fully insured by VCWAS.
- Our team manages all logistics on ride days and provides clear communication before and after each visit.
- We handle route planning, scheduling, equipment maintenance, and transport, so your team can focus on residents’ enjoyment.

I once had a ride with a senior resident. At first, she felt angry and irritated and refused to get on the bike with me. But after a short ride, I could feel the change in her mood. She began to enjoy the ride and kept telling me how much she loves cycling without age, how beautiful the scenery was, and so on. She thanked me many times for bringing her out and said I am one of her best friends. The ride definitely brought back many fond memories for this lady from Beijing, China.

“A resident who is non-verbal went out for a ride with his wife. The ride got caught in the rain, but that didn't dampen their spirits! When they returned home, the wife commented that while they were snuggled up in blankets, under the canopy, listening to the rain, it felt as though they were young again and on a romantic date.”

“This is an enjoyable experience for both the residents and family members and is a meaningful experience that they can share. They will be smiling from ear to ear when they come back.”

“What stood out just as much as the ride itself was your team. Your volunteer pilots were warm, patient, engaging and genuinely connected with our seniors. There was conversation, laughter and such a wonderful sense of ease throughout the experience. Our seniors felt like they were spending time with family rather than simply being taken for a ride, and that meant a great deal to us.”
